Togo Independence Day Party/ Fête de l'Indépendance du Togo
The Community of Togolese Residing in Oregon and Washington (CTROW) threw an Independence Day party at Portland State University yesterday. I could have been in Togo even if I haven't stepped foot there yet, we danced, we ate, we saw photos, we shared contact info in Togo and in the US. Kids scurried around, the children have a one head majority in CTROW, 26 kids, 25 adults. Folks from Senegal and Ghana were there, and Teresa, a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Togo and active member in CTROW was on hand as well. Many Thanks to Moutari, the President of CTROW and to Teresa for sending along the invitation, and to Christophe for inviting me to his family's place in Lomé.
